We did not get to stay at this hotel. We were given a room in the hotel next door (AZUL). Unfortunately, even though we were told we would be at Pariso, the room asigned was is Azul. After wondering around in the blazing hot sum for over an hour, with our luggage and complaining to hotel staff we were told that we had been relocated at Azul,which would have been fine except that no one cared enough to tell us. Then they took us to a room that had no pool view and only one bed. We had paid for a room with pool view and balcony and had stressed that it must have two beds, as I was vacationing with my daughter. Finally after I had blown my stack at the front desk and was creating a scene, one lady said she would help me. She did and got us a pool view room with a balcony and two beds, although it still wasn't at the resort we booked. Overall, they couldn't have screwed things up worse even if they purposely tried to. Not a very impressive performance and I have no inclination whatsoever to ever expose myself or my family to this type of experience again.

First of all the resort I booked was not were I stayed at as they had it closed off so we were taken to the sister property. Upon checking in there was some confusion as it took them awhile to figure out that i had purchased the Diamond Club. I got to my room and it was clean. The staff were friendly. I did have one incident that left me very upset. At 8am one morning early in my trip I went to the bathroom only to realize that there was no toilet paper. I called and no one showed up at 8:30am i called again and to my horror still no one showed up. I had to resort to going into the bathtub and cleaning myself! I called again and once again promised toilet paper. At 10am tired of waiting i went to the front desk and complaint about the situation. Still no toilet paper; my husband upon returning to the room from his beach walk was the one that went looking for toilet paper from the maid and brought it back to my room. This left me really upset and disapointed. It was a basic necessity and in my condition i really needed the toilet paper. I met up with a group of your Sunwing representatives and asked for a minute of their time and explained the situation; given the fact that I am in the customer service business and I ensure that my staff go beyond all expectations. I think I know what I am talking about! So i suggested that in future it would be so much easier to avoid such a small situation so that it would not escalate to the point that it did with me have an extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom at all times. This would never happen again...simple it would not cost alot and easy to do since there is maid services every day but something that they do not practice! Their reaction was simply yes thanks but they really did not listen or really cared....there were alot of people complaining and I am 100% sure that i will not be the only person complaning for various reasons....however said I know I booked a holiday in Cuba I dont expect the food to be 5* quality and it was not however the problem with the flies need to be addressed...they need to find away to keep the flies of the food...indoors and having 2 of the restaurantes outdoors with the mosquitos infestation was horrible I assure you that the whole reservation of the 8pm sitting got up and left the restaurant as we could not eat in those conditions! The fumigation was horrible to breath and alot of parents concerned as there were lot's of small children around. The beach is spectacular and about the only thing that was 5* to this resort. Overall I had an ok time for the amount of money I paid but would I return...I am not sure I was in Cuba 6 months ago and did not deal with these issues in a 4 star resort. It was also a week of tourism meeting in the area and i think personally that is where they catered to and forgot the regular person who ends up paying and filling their hotel. I can only tell you that I wish i could be there for a few months and work with the staff in improving their skills this is a prime location and with amazing potential. Hope this helps.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at multiple five star resorts through out the Caribbean and Memories Paraiso Beach Resort does not classify as one. I am appalled that it is classified as a five star. I guess we should have assumed that from the name of the hotel they were referring to the beach when labelling this hotel a 5 Star (Beach Resort).

The hotel room was so dirty, we could not ever get comfortable and feel like we were on vacation. Our goal when we booked the trip was luxurious. We will never return to Cuba and when we book we will make sure that we read the reviews and listen to the people.

The food was by far the worst we have ever ate. We had thought maybe this is how the food is in Cuba, but we went to a couple restaurants in the village near our resort and the food was fabulous.

The staff barely spoke English and most of them were not friendly. We had brought many little gifts for our housekeeping staff to show appreciation for their work, it was a struggle to get clean towels and sheets.

If it wasn't for the beach and the hot sun, we would have flown home the day we arrived. Please do not advertise this hotel as five star it is so deceiving for people who like to go to luxurious hotels.

4 ieme voyage à Cuba je suis allée ds des hotels 3 étoiles 4 et 5 , je peux classer cette hotel pour un 4, payer pas plus que 800$ en cette saison.

Très bon service à la clientele, au bar et au restaurant. L'entretient de la chambre très bien, le frigo toujours remplie à chaque jours, le matelas dur mais confortable, il place un genre de housse à metelas en plastique qui fait bc transpirer, j'ai remédié au problème en placant une couverture entre la housse et le drap. Pour les resto l'asia et l'italien sont les meilleurs, pour les autres ça ressemble au buffet sauf pour la pizza, les nouilles sautés avec légumes sans oublier les omellettes, fromage et jus d'orange.

J'ai eu la malchance d'avoir des coquerelles dans ma chambre 3704, en 30 minutes ils sont vite venu exteminer la chambre, à mon retour à Montréal, j'ai lu qu'il n'est pas rare de voir ces bestioles à Cuba, j'ai eu de la chance ds mes autres voyages. Maringouinsss malgré qu'ils traitent pour les moustiques ils sont tellement vorace qu'ils sortent le soir alors prévoyé du chasse moustiques!!! la piscine nettoyage médiocre...les bancs au bar sont plein de dépots gluant insalubre... et le fond assez sableneux il manque d'endroits pour se nettoyer les pieds en revenant de la plage alors ils en a qui ne savent pas vivre et se rince ds la piscine!!

Activité catamaran (100 pesos)à ne pas manquer, mais ce qui est de l'organisation pour le retour un gros manquement. Ils ne nous ont pas avertie du départ de l'autobus. Nous étions environ 10 personnes à ne pas savoir ce qu'il se passait, même Gaviotatransport ne savait pas quoi faire, nous pouvions prendre l'autobus pour 1 pesos chacun, nous trouvions ce choix insensé, alors nous avons attendue 45 min debout au soleil et la même autobus est revenu nous chercher et cette fois c'était gratuit. Alors n'attendez pas qu'on vous guide, soyez alerte.

A la fin du voyage lorsque la personne qui occupait la chambre 3476 s'est rendu compte qu'il lui manquait des vêtements 1 short 1 t-shirt et 1 boxeur, nous avons avertie le SAC mais étant le jour du retour nous avons pas eu de suite jusqu'à présent.

Je recommande cette hotel !!

C'était incroyable comme expérience tout inclus. La nourriture très bonne, fraîche et diversifiée. Plusieurs restaurants à la carte. Endroit vraiment propre. Service hors pair. À recommander!

Went to this hotel recently. Had a good time and hotel experience was as expected from all the reviews we had read. This resort is more like a 4 star, does not compare to other 5 stars we have been too. Grounds and beach are beautiful. More palapas are needed. There was not even enough when we were there and it was off season. Cleanliness in the buffet restaurant and rooms need to be a higher priority. We were satisfied with our experience for the price that we paid.

Room Booked : Diamond Junior Suite Ocean View.

Cleanliness in Room was poor - washrooms even worse. Front desk / reception were not helpful at all and hung up on us twice (possibly accidentally I suppose). Room service never picked up the phone (we called 8 times - and this service costs $). The diamond club did not give us any noticeable bonus' and was a waste of money in our case. We had expected to food to be poor, and it was, though if you know what to get you can easily get through the week with decent meals - if you are a lobster fan DO NOT get the lobster - mush. We did a day trip to Havana - 156 CUC I believe (or thereabouts). When we got in the airport there was no toilet seats / toilet paper/ soap to speak of - so do not plan on using the washroom. When we landed we were told we landed at the wrong airport and it would take an additional wait time of 1.5 hours to wait for the bus and travel into savanna (not refunded). We ended up taking a cab into havana and doing the tour ourselves (25 CUC cab ride). I would say the tour was better this way anyway. We got in more and we still joined the group for lunch (which was the best meal we had all week). Returned approx 9pm.

Tipping seemed expected and did not yield a difference in service whether it was a 1 CUC or 20 CUC tip. We tried all denominations in between as we were desperate for decent service. 1 server was amazing - I believe here name was Matilde ? she served in one of the Lobby Bars.

The beach was phenomenal - beautiful, clean etc. The alcohol went down great - mohitos were delicious. All in all we found that what fun you bring with you is the fun you will have. We will most definitely NOT be returning to this resort.

Memories Paraiso is a beautiful and lush resort. Expect to do lots of walking which was fine for us. The beach is one of the best I have ever seen. The entertainment was amazing as was the overall service at every level. On the flip side, the food wasn't any good. They served the same food all week. I do believe that leftovers from dinner were served the next day for sure. I have been to Cuba before and was well aware of the food quality in general. However, at this resort, it definitely was below expectation. My husband came back very sick with food poising.

Hotel was massive. We had good service but only bc my husband spoke fluent spanish. We did not receive the type of room we booked and paid for, they said it was unavailable, which was a disappointment. Food was decent, the a la cartes where ur best bet. Beaches were spectacular and we walked them everyday. The Michael Jackson impersonator at the shows was spot on! Overall decent resort, pretty much typical Cuban standard

we upgraded to diamond but found it difficult to use any of the upgrades. The Italian a la carte restaurant was booked for the entire 7 days that we were there. No one spoke enough english to properly direct us to Azul, restaurants, exclusive beach, or to the water activities. I found my way by asking fellow resort goers. Any of the meat served is over cooked, the mashed potatoes are soup, but the pizza is to die for but you have to wait 30 mins to get it!
The swim up bar took forever to get a drink, i saw someone clean the pool once, but our rooms were very very clean. They got our check out incorrect so a handful of maids walked in on us.
There is A LOT of walking, everything is very sprawled out and be prepared to walk to go anywhere.
The beach is amaizing, the staff is nice, (when you get to talk to them), the restaurants are very nice but the food sucks. Better directions to let you know where things are would be good, at least so you didn't rely so heavily on the staff to direct you!

All in all I had a great trip but it took 3 days to finally get some bonuses to the diamond upgrade. Some people figured it out fast, unfortunately we did not.
We were also able to leave our bag with our cameras on the beach chairs and not one person even glanced at it! Loved that!
Loved Michael Jackson at the theater!!!

p.s. try not to drink too much on the 1hr 45 min bus ride in... it is IMPOSSIBLE to use the washrooms!!!

apres plusieurs voyages dans le sud (CUBA, MEXIQUE,REPUP-DOM),je peux affirmer sans me tromper que ce n,est pas un 5 etoiles,je le considere plus comme un 3.5 etoiles,chambres ordinaires,propres sans plus,le site est beau et assez bien entretenu,ou ca se gate c'est la nourriture,vraiment une bouffe sans gout, tout ce qui se trouve dans les comptoirs chauffants,tous est froid et la depuis longtemps,ce qui a fait que mon epouse a fait un empoisonnement alimentaire.nous ne sommes pas chialeux habituellement,mais la trop c'est trop,il y a que les fromages et le pain de bon et bien sur les oeufs, le matin.
cote mer c'est super beau,tres venteux et manque de palapas,plage un peu etroite,mais tres belle pour la marche,,
j'oubliais les restos a la carte,tres tres ordinaires, sauf l'italien qui se demarque des autres,pensez y a deux fois avant de reserver a cet hotel,n'oubliez pas que sunwing en est co-proprietaire et que c'est propablement eux qui l'ont classe 5 etoiles.

Awesome beach but would not return to this hotel as the options were very limited. We found it to be a lot like camping. Not many toilet seats, lacking in toilet paper, power outages in the rooms & restauarants. TV / telephone was down for a couple of days. The front desk staff were very rude & not helpful, regarding placing our group together or helping with bug spray in the rooms. No diet pop, or decaf coffee, peanut butter, ketchup,etc. Ran out of bread most days at breakfast. Selection of everything was poor. Felt more like a 3*

Very disappointing experience.This was the 3rd time we've been to this resort. First two visits left unforgettible good memories but this time it was not acceptable :
1. food is terrible even though we are not picky eaters , everyone in the family had problem with stomach during our stay .
2. pool area was so crowded that it was not possible to find the place to relax during the day, the shade areas was taken by guests earlier in the morning 6-7 o'clock.
3. Bath towels were not changed in 4 days . Complained every day - nobody cared . You have to forget about face or hand towels , as we were told - it does not exists in this hotel.
4.Asked for wake-up call at 5 in the morning - and again of course , nobody bothered to call .
Don't overpay for the hotel , the top price is $500 dollars and I would rate it as 3 *** .

Je voyage beaucoup (entre autre 5 fois Cuba)et là cet hôtel n'est pas un 5*. Manque organisation, structure, map du site les restaurants ne sont pas identifiés par leur nom, il faut chercher et demander continuellement. Service à la clientèle ouvert de 09h00 à 15h00 (réservations des restaurants)alors longue file d'attente.Club Diamond ne vaut pas la peine, j'étais dans le Paraiso et la salle du Club Diamond (concierge)était dans le Azul. Pas de navette qui circule fréquemment, il faut appeler le bellboy pour se déplacer. Internet ne fonctionnait pas au Paraiso encore là il a fallut que j'aille au Azul et c'est tellement lent, le prix de la carte est 6CUC pour 30 min et seulement 3 postes d'ouverts pour les 2 sites.

Pour mon argent, un lieu fort intéressant,malgré certaines petites lacunes. Cependant, le nombre élevé de vacanciers, plus de 1200 dans les deux Momories, requiert beaucoup d'aliments qui sont offerts mais empêche d'offrir un changement de menu approprié normalement pour un 4 Etoile.

Très grand site, lorsqu'il pleut beaucoup de marche l manque de palapa à la plage. Chaise vraiment pas confortable à la plage pour un 5 étoiles.... Nous avions normalement. Une réservation pour la section memoriesn

paraiso et on nous a donné une chambre dans la section azul sans explications. Un vacancier nous a aidé à trouver notre chambre car il n'y avait pas de porteur disponible

Bien en général, ça vaut un hotel de 3.5 * ou 4 *. Il faudrait congédier les chefs. Tous les mets sont trop cuits.

Our big complaint was that the hot food was always cold (It is dangerous to peoples health to serve food that is not at the proper temperature)This problem was at every restaurant even at the A La Cartes. Another problem was there is not enough cabanas on the beach people had there towels on them from 5 or 6 am same problem at the pool

Très beau voyage. J'ai mieux apprécié cet hotel comparativement au Melia Las Dunas (voyage en 2008).
Points positifs :
Plage très belle. Propreté. Buffet très bien pour Cuba.
Points négatifs :
Resturants à la carte très ordinaire.
Manque de palatas sur la plage

Trying to be neutral this was my experience:

- Restaurants and food below as expected being 5 start hotel,
much better going to buffet restaurant than special restaurants with special menu ( the food was not good at all there)

- Beaches were so good one of the best I ever have been BUT a few tents, I had to wake up so so earlier to book one for my daugthers. The staff at the beach and swimming pool was exceptional one of the best staff I ever have seen

- the place is very good

- very good activities for kids

In general I would say this hotel is good for kids where they can enjoy but not for adults expecting 5 start service when it won't never happen. If you want to save money is a good option but if you are willing to pay 200 bucks more go to Ensenachos

Our trip was #5 to Cuba. This time we decided to go to a 5 star hotel and we were very excited about it. Well, for Cuba standards the Hotel is a 5 star but really is not too much more from any other 3 or 4 star hotel. Since when anyone having holidays has to have an alarm clock to get up around 6 to be able to get a sit under a umbrella in the beach? Even a 3 star hotel years ago we did not have to do it. Very bad organization and the employees looking after the beach the only thing they wanted was money. Everyone and everywhere it is the same thing. The room had a King size bed but the bed sheets were double size so during the night was a matter of, in every turn to make sure that we were covered. One thing that I would like to say about the food in the Hotel is that it is plenty of it with a vast variety of choices. Lots of different kinds of cheeses and lots of fresh breads. Nobody should complain about it. Another thing is that you really do not need too much money to spend because it is not too much to buy there. No vendors at all.

mais plutot un 3.5 et parce qu'il y a cette superbe plage. aucun vervice n'importe ou vous allez, exemple 15 a 20 minute pour un plat de pate.
au bar du lobby apres souper,30 minutes pour un cafe.La bouffe est excecrable meme au resto a la carte. Le vin est servit a l'acide sulfurique et on ne peut meme pas en acheter. Pas de service medical sur place, 10 min en taxi. Je le sait j'ai du y aller 3 fois pour cause de tourista.Je voyages un peut partout dans les caraibes ( ou-20 fois) et j'y ai jamais ete malade.L'hotel semble etre sous l'emprise des Russe,eux ils ont ce qu'ils veullent.

dont even know where to start!! got suckered in to a diamond package! and didnt get any diamond service!!! the staff was garbage! they lingering around for tips! back to the diamond club!!!! was told room service didnt exsist, premium booze was only scotch!!!! well i dont drink goddam scotch!!!!!the premium beer would be charged to my room!!!! the food was absolutly rancid!! my wife ate bread for a week! my son ate natella sandwiches all week and i had the shits, from the cross contamination happing all over the resort!!!(when raw food touches cooked food! cooking one o one) itravel has posted a 5 star for this resort they are lucky to get a 2.5 from me! what wasnt eatin for breakfast was used for lunch and what wasnt eatin for lunch was used for dinner!!! dirty cutlery! dirty dishes,glasses etc...... would probably get a better meal and service in ethiopia!!!to top it all off when we arrived at the airport to no suprise we listend to all the other families who had a horrible time not to mention their sick kids from staying at this shit hole resort!!!!! definatly would never book a trip with itravel again or go back to cuba!!!!!! thanks for taking my money on the upgrade that doesnt excist!!!!!!

this was the worst place we have ever been to in Cuba. No hot water in bath, food was the same every day, staff was very poor, the only good thing about this resort was the beach. This was a waste of money and I will never book with you guys again.

Memories Paraiso beach...pour la mer et la plage 10 étoiles!vous serez au paradis,la mer est comme une piscine géante c'est vraiment incomparable a tous les endroits que j'ai fait dans le sud et jy retournerais pour cette raison!Les Cubains sont très gentil malgré que certains ne donne que du bon service avec des pesos sinon service lent!le resort est très beau,cependant les chambres sont loin d'être 5 étoiles...problèmes avec moustiquaire,toilette ect!Le gros problème c'est le buffet la bouffe y est vraiment exécrable et d'un gout suspect,tout baigne dans l'huile et les condiments ont un gout de médicaments,donc crise de foie a prévoir si vous avez l'estomac fragile!donc prévoir d'apporter votre beurre de peanut si vous voulez pas crever de faim ou être malade au buffet.Les restos a la carte sont très bon,alors il faut en profiter le soir vu que le jours ouff,les hamburgers du gril et de la plage sont dégueulasse plein de gras et gout de mmmm!bref cette hotel as rien d'un 5 étoiles,c'est un 3 gros max,mais pour la mer jy retournerais demain tellement c'est le paradis!

Jeune couple de 26ans , notre 1er voyage a vie et biensûr Cuba ! Nous avons été charmé, l'Hotel dit être un 5 étoiles...mais bon je dirais plutot un 4 puisque nous avons visité un 5 cétais tres différent chambre très propre buffet pas si mal et a la carte cetais bien bref la beach étais débile !

Faire attention si vous allez a Cuba changer votre argent a la banque de l'Hotel et non à l'Hotel....vous allez etre perdant !

p.s apportez vous des bucks a biere :-)
et le tours en catamarant était MAGIC prix de 100$ par personnes mais ca vos le coût!!!

Ùn site manifique , hôtel moyen toutefois un bon service.

Unfortunately, the desk lost our reservation papers and ended up putting us at the Azul Resort; it took them 3 moves before they could find us a room with a king size bed (even though we had indicated online that we required a king sized bed!) It took us 3 days to realize that we were placed in a different resort other than the one that we had paid to be in. When we finally got placed, we missed out on almost a full day of our vacation.

Also, we were kind of upset that we left Nova Scotia at suppertime, arrived there at night and didn't get settled until the next afternoon. Our departure on the following Friday was at the ungodly hour of 5 in the morning - another day in the sun lost to poor organization.

Otherwise, the time there was relaxing, warm and wonderful; the beach was beautiful, the water salty and tepid - ideal conditions, and an interesting reef which contained thousands of fish and many barracudas.

Getting Diamond Club service was hit or miss - we got housecoats on a couple of days and not on others; water we got everyday, but not beer or pop in out mini-fridge.
